    Chicken with Pineapple Sauce

    Recipe Introduction


    Here's a sweet thick glaze that really dresses up plain chicken. We think it tastes good over ham, too.

    List of Ingredients




    2 T. brown sugar
    1 T. cornstarch
    2 cans (8 oz. each) crushed pineapple, undrained
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1/4 t. garlic salt
    1/4 t. ground ginger
    6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
    minced chives, optional

    Recipe



    In a saucepan, combine brown sugar and cornstarch. Stir in pineapple and juice, soy sauce, garlic salt and ginger. Cook and stir over low heat until thickened.

    Place chicken in a greased 9" square baking dish. Pour half of the sauce over chicken. Bake, uncovered, at 350ºF for 15 mins. Baste; bake 10 mins. longer or until chicken juices run clear, basting several times with remaining sauce. Sprinkle with chive, if desired.

    Makes 6 servings.
