Super Gooey-Fudgy Brownies
Source of Recipe
internet
List of Ingredients
1 1/3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 stick butter, melted
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 large eggs
2 T. water
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate chipsRecipe
Combine flour, soda and salt. Stir together sugar, butter, chocolate, eggs, vanilla and water vigorously in large bowl. Stir in flour mixture. Stir in nuts and chips. Spread into greased 11 3/4 x 7 1/2 pan or 13x9 pan. Bake 22 minutes at 350ºF.
Even though I love nuts and chocolate chips, I usually leave them out because the brownies are just wonderful without them. But not a thing wrong with them in, either!
I do use the 11 3/4 x 7 1/2 pan (I call it a brownie pan or a biscuit pan). I think they'd be awfully thin in a 13x9. Probably a 9" square pan would work, but I have no idea how long you'd have to cook them.
I do use real butter (unsalted) and the Baker's brand squares of unsweetened chocolate. When I use chocolate chips I use semi-sweet, not milk chocolate.
Posted by: MytFly: Another recipe that sounds deceptively easy and like all other brownie recipes. Until you make it!These are wonderful hot straight out of the oven but they are still wonderful when they cool off! I get many requests for these brownies. I am a diehard Cooks Illustrated fan and I made their recipe the other night for chewy brownies and I was SO disappointed. Mine are much better. (To me, at least.) If you are at home, go right to the kitchen and make these! If you are at work, don't stop anywhere on the way home, just go make them! Even for non-baking people - you can't mess these up!
Seriously, hope some of you make them soon and let me know what you think. Emily
