Apple Jack Cookies

1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter/margarine, softened
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 medium apple, chopped*

Recipe



Heat oven to 375ºF. Grease cookie sheet with shortening.

Beat brown sugar, butter and egg in lg. bowl with electric mixer on med. speed til light and fluffy. Stir in flour, nutmeg, salt, and baking soda. Stir in apple.

Drop dough by rounded tsp-fulls about 2" apart onto cookie sheet.

Bake 8-10 min. or til light brown.

Remove from sheet to wire rack. Cool. Store loosely covered.

*Vary by using different fruits or even veggies instead of the apple.*
