Taralucci (Italian Lemon Easter Cookies)

Recipe Introduction
This recipe comes from a local Italian cookbook put out by the Rotary Club filled with great recipes by little old Italian ladies (they always have great recipes!) I have not tried this one yet.
List of Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
6 eggs
3 tsp lemon extract
1/2 cup milk
5 cups flour
5 tsp baking powder
Recipe
Cream the shortening, sugar, eggs, lemon extract and milk together. Add the flour and baking powder and mix until incorporated and moistened. With a teaspoon, take a small portion of dough and roll into a ball and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 375 or until barely golden on the bottom. Cool cookies on wire racks.
Lemon icing
1 cup confectioners sugar
2 Tbls milk
1/2 tsp lemon extract
Whisk icing ingredients together until they are a drippy consistency. Drizzle over each cookie and then let dry. (Icing will drip down sides.)
