Chocolate Covered Marshmallows

1 C. chocolate chips
1/2 C. shortening
1 Pkg. marshmallows -- (10 oz.)
50 toothpicks Recipe
Place chocolate chips and shortening in 2 cup measure. Microwave at 50% or Medium 1 to 3 minutes or until chips are shiny and soft. Stir until smooth. Insert pick in top of each marshmallow. Dip into chocolate to cover completely. Set on wax paper. Let stand until firm. Makes 50.
Variation: Coconut, nuts and candy sprinkles. Dip into choice while chocolate is still soft.
Makes great treats for parties.
