    Norweigian crowns 10- 12 min @ 375
    1/2 c butter
    1/4 c sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1 1/4 c sifted flour
    cream the butter. gradually add the sugar, then the egg and almond extract. Add the sifted flour.
    Fill the cookie press half full. Form cookies on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake. 3 doz.

    Mirro Josie's 10- 12 min @ 375
    3/4 c shortening or part butter and part shortening
    1/2 c sugar
    1 egg beaten
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 c sifted flour
    3/4 c corn starch
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    cream shortening and add sugar gradually beating thoroughly.
    Add the well beaten egg and vanilla.
    sift flour , corn starch, baking powder and salt then gradually add to the first mixture.
    stir till well blended.
    fill cookie press half full. Form to desired shapes about 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
    yield 6 doz.

    orange crisps 10- 12 min @ 375
    1 c shortening
    1/2 c sugar
    1/2 c brown sugar
    1 tbsp orange juice
    1 egg
    1 tsp grated orange rind
    2 1/2 c sifted flour
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp soda

    cream the shortening, gradually add the sugar and orange juice. Cream well.
    Add egg and grated orange rind. Sift flour, salt, and soda. Add to the creamed mixture a little at a time. Fill cookie press half full.

    Butter pretzels 10-12 min @ 375
    1 c butter
    1 c sugar
    2 egg yolks beaten
    1 egg white, beaten stiff
    1/2 tsp almond extract
    2 1/4 to 2 1/2 sifted flour
    cream butter, add sugar gradually and mix well. add egg yolks, white of egg and almond extract. Gradually add flour , blending in well.
    Fill cookie press half full. Form cookies on ungreased cookie sheets.Use a star plate for forming pretzels. Bake.
    yield 5 dozen


    caramel cookies 10-12 min @ 375
    1 c shortening
    1/2 c brown sugar
    1 c sugar
    2 eggs beaten
    2 tsp vanilla
    3 3/4 c sifted flour
    1 tsp salt
    cream shortening and add sugars gradually creaming well.
    add beaten eggs and vanilla. sift flour, soda and salt, gradually add to creamed mixture. fill cookie press half full and bake

    molasses spice cookies 10-12 min @ 275
    1/2 c shortening
    1/2 c sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 tsp soda
    1/4 c molasses
    2 c sifted flour
    1/4 tsp each of salt, allspice, cloves, and mace
    1/2 tsp cinnamon and ginger
    cream the shortening adding sugar gradually. add egg, mix soda with molasses and add to creamed mixture. Gradually add flour which has been sifted with salt and spices. Fill cookie press half full. Form cookies on ungreased sheets. bake.
    yield 5 dozen


    Sour cream cookies 10-12 min @ 375
    1 c shortening
    1 c sugar
    2 egg yolks
    1/2 c sour cream
    1 tsp vanilla
    4 c sifted flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tsp nutmeg
    1/2 tsp soda.
    cream shortening, add sugar and mix well. Add beaten egg yolks, sour cream and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition. Fill cookie press 1/2 full. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets.
