    TAM'S SWEET DILL PICKLES

    Source of Recipe

    internet

    List of Ingredients

1 quart of cheap whole dill pickles (not kosher), drained
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 tsp celery seed
    1 tsp mustard seed
    3 whole cloves
    3 Tbsp cider vinegar
    2 large sliced garlic cloves
    1 small chopped onion

    Recipe

THERE IS NO LIQUID OTHER THAN THE 3 TBSP VINEGAR.

Slice each pickle lengthwise in quarters or anyway you prefer. Discard the drained liquid from the jar, then reuse the jar.

In a small bowl, combine & blend all ingredients (except pickles) together. Layer about 1/3 of pickles in jar, then put about 1/3rd of mixture over them; continue layering in 3rds until everything is used.

Screw lid on very tight. It makes its own liquid as sugar dissolves. Keep in refrigerator. Turn jar upside down then reverse every day for at least 4 days before using so sugar dissolves & flavors meld. (I can never wait that long!)
