    SAN FRANCISCO CHICKEN

    Source of Recipe

    internet

    List of Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
    3 cloves garlic, minced
4 Tbsp. soy sauce (I use lite soy sauce)
    3 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/2-1 tsp. freshly grated ginger (optional)
    1 1/2 c. chicken broth (I use fat free-lower sodium chicken broth)
    1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Sliced green onion, sprinkled on for garnish

    Recipe

Brown chicken breasts in a small amount of oil. Remove from pan; add garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger (if using) and 1 c. chicken broth. Stir to mix; return chicken to pan, cover and simmer until the chicken is cooked through, 15-20 minutes. Remove chicken from pan; cover to keep warm. MIx cornstarch with remaining 1/2 c. broth; stir into the mixture in the skillet. Bring to a boil to thicken sauce; return chicken to the pan, coating it well. Serves 4.

(Source: adapted from Recipezaar)*NOTE: Marie-the poster of this recipe on Recipezaar-suggests doubling the sauce ingredients to serve the sauce over rice.
