    CHICKEN RICE PILAF

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 C butter or margarine
    3/4 C chopped onion
    1 C chopped celery
    1 C uncooked rice
    1 pkg Lipton Chicken Rice Soup Mix*
    2 1/2 C water
    1/4 t salt
    1/4 t pepper
    1/4 t sage
    1/4 t thyme

    Recipe

    In skillet, heat butter or margarine and sauté onion, celery and rice until rice is golden brown. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes.

    Makes 4 – 6 servings.

    *I use 2 - 3 chicken boullion cubes instead of the soup mix. Works for me. I, also, add some chopped up chicken and with a salad you have a meal.
