1 stick margarine
1/2 cup flour
4 cups milk
salt and pepper
Recipe
Melt margarine in skillet over low heat; add flour and stir until creamy consistency. Continue stirring for a minute, then slowly add milk. Cook on med-high heat until bubbling, then cook on low-med heat until desired thickness. May add cooked sausage at this time.
NOTES : Use full recipe when fixing biscuits and gravy; 1/2 recipe for mashed potatoes and gravy--for 4; Small batch for 2 people: 2 Tbsp margarine, 2 Tbsp flour, 1 c milk, salt and pepper.
