Swedish Meatball Sauce

1/2 pound butter
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon paprika
2 tablespoons onion salt
1 teaspoon pepper
8 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups half & halfRecipe
Melt butter in heavy pan until bubbly. Add flour to which paprika, onion salt and pepper has been added. Stir vigorously for 2 minutes. Add boiling water. Stir until thick (5 minutes). Add half & half. Heat until hot; do not boil. Scrapings from meatballs pan may be added.
Posted by: queenietwo: This is good with pretty much any meat ball recipe. Once the sauce is made just keep things heated in a crock pot. This makes enough for about 30 meatballs, so you may want to reduce it if not cooking for a crowd! Marlene
