    Kim's Delicious Baked Beans

    Source of Recipe

    my friend Kim

    Recipe Introduction

I ONLY use Bush's baked beans because they aren't mushy like the others. I just get the Original ones. When I make for a crowd I use the gallon size can, when just for us I use 1 or 2 of the ???28 oz size cans maybe. Not sure of the size.....

    List of Ingredients

    Bush's baked beans-reserve juice
    ground beef-cooked and drained
onion-chopped up really fine and sauteed with the meat
    bell pepper-chopped up really fine
jalapeno or two (only one if adding seeds)-chopped up
    really fine

    Recipe

Sauce: liquid from the beans-may be omitted if in a hurry, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and a little bit of salt and pepper and cumin. (All spices, sugar and veggies are to suit your own taste. I don't measure.) Mix together and add to meat and veggie mixture and heat up. (This can all be done in the same pan and the omitted if you are in a hurry. Try it both ways and see if you can tell a difference....if not....do it the quick and easy way.)

After all is mixed together in the pan (9X13 works great for 2 cans but isn't big enough for the gallon size can) cook in a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes stirring occasionally. You can cook them longer or shorter depending on how you prefer them. For me......45 minutes usually does it.

I hope ya'll like them. I make them the quick way alot but I really do prefer them done the long way. To me, they are so much better when you cook everything together first before adding to the beans. If I'm in a time crunch I'll just mix everything in the one pan but they never taste the same to me.
