1 cup plus 2 T. all-purpose flour
1 t. salt
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
Recipe
Stir together flour and 1 t. salt.
Blend egg and milk; stir into flour mixture.
Place half of the dough in 1-qt. Strainer. (mine is the yellow Tupperware Strainer). Hold over soup kettle. With wooden spoon, press dough through Strainer to form spatzle. Repeat. Cook and stir 5 minutes.
It has been a while since I've made these but they are good and simple to make. Great with home made stew and soup. This is great with vegetable soup in the winter, or chicken broth and cut up pieces of chicken in the broth. Yum!
Hope you enjoy making this. When you push the Spatzle dough through the Tupperware 1-Qt. Strainer into the soup, it makes curly like noodles.
