    Recipe Introduction

There were 3 recipes in our newspaper today...so I read them all and made my own up. I know Irish stew is made with lamb but I didn't have any and DH doesn't really like lamb (he's NOT a good little leprechaun!!) ...so I subbed beef. OMG!!! The gravy was outta this world good!!!

    List of Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs stew meat, cubed in 2" pieces
onions (I used 2 med.), chopped
    garlic powder or minced garlic
carrots (I used about 1 lb of baby carrots)
    potatoes (washed and quartered)
    1 c. flour
    1/2 - 1 C. beer
2 cans beef broth (I used water and bouillon)

    Recipe

Brown the meat in olive oil. Add onion & garlic. Add flour and mix. It will be real stiff. Add liquid (broth & beer). Stir well. Add taters & carrots. Cover & bake 350ºF for 2-2.5 hrs. I served with toasted garlic/cheese bread.
