    1/8 cup butter
    2 cups cubed peeled potatoes
    1 cup chopped baby carrots
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 T flour
    1/4 t thyme
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/8 t ground white pepper
    1 (14 1/2 oz) can chicken broth
    1/2 cup water
    1 1/2 cups frozen corn
    1 1/2 cups chopped cooked ham
    2 cups half and half

    Recipe



    Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in potatoes, carrots and onion and sauté for a few minutes. Stir in flour, seasonings, chicken broth and water. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and boils. Bring to a boil and simmer about 5-10 minutes. Stir in corn, ham and half and half. Cook until very hot but not boiling or you will break the soup.
