    1 LB. DRY LENTILS (2 1/3 C.)
    1 1/2 C. CHOPPED CARROT
    1 C. CHOPPED ONION
    1 C. CHOPPED CELERY
    1/4 C. SNIPPED PARSLEY
    1 TSP. SALT
    1/4 TSP. DRIED MARJORAM, CRUSHED
    1/8 TSP. PEPPER
    1 BAY LEAF
    1 MEATY HAM BONE (ABOUT 1 1/2 LB.)

    PLACE LENTILS IN CROCKPOT. ADD CARROTS, ONION, CELERY, AND
    PARSLEY. STIR IN SALT, MARJORAM, PEPPRE AND BAY LEAF. PLACE
    HAM BONE ATOP, ADD 7 CUPS WATER. COVER AND COOK ON LOW
    HEAT SETTING FOR 9-11 HOURS. LIFT HAM BONE FROM SOUP. SEASON
    TO TASTE AND REMOVE BAY LEAF BEFORE SERVING. MAKES 10
    SERVINGS.
