Recipe Introduction
Family members expected these scrumptious rolls at all family holiday dinners. It's the #1 favorite recipe!
List of Ingredients
- 1 stick + 1 T oleo or butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 pkg, yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 beaten egg
- 3 cups flour
Instructions
- Mix first 4 ingredients. Reserve 1 T butter. Cool.
- Mix yeast in warm water and add beaten egg and flour.
- Combine above ingredients.
- Place in greased bowl; cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Divide into 3 balls; roll out; spread with butter and cut into pie shaped wedges (8 - 12 wedges).
- Roll into crescent shapes; let rise.
- Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees until browned.
Final Comments
Good warm with butter & jam. You can't eat just one. Freezes well in the unlikey event you have some left over.
