    Recipe Introduction

You won't find a better apple pie ... just ask any family member!

    List of Ingredients

    • Jonathon or other cooking apples (Granny Smith is good)
    • 1 cup white sugar
    • 3 T flour
    • cinnamon
    • butter

    Instructions

    1. Mix sugar and flour.
    2. Sprinkle about 2 T on unbaked pie shell.
    3. Fill shell with sliced, peeled apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.
    4. Add remaining sugar & flour mixture.
    5. Dot with butter.
    6. Top with second crust and slit OR with Dutch crumb topping: mix 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 stick butter & 3 T flour.
    7. Bake @ 400 degrees for 10 minutes; lower heat to 350 degrees and bake another 40 - 50 minutes until done.

    Final Comments

If you use the Dutch crumb topping, use less sugar in pie.
