    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup cocoa
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 3/4 cup milk
    • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350*F. Grease 2 large cookie sheets.
    2. In a large bowl, with wooden spoon, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Add milk, butter and vanilla; stir until smooth.
    3. Drop 12 heaping tablespoons of batter, 2 inches apart, on each prepared cookie sheet.
    4. Bake until puffy and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 12-14 minutes, roating cookie sheets between upper and lower racks halfway through baking time. With wide spatula, transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
    5. When cool, prepare Marshamallow Creme Filling. Spread 1 rounded tablespoon filling over flat side of cookies. Top with remaining cookies, flat side down, to make 12 sandwiches.
    6. Marshmallow Creme Filling
    7. In large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, slightly softened, until creamy. With mixer at low speed, gradually beat in 1 cup confectioners' sugar until blended. Beat in 1 (7 ounce) jar of marshmallow creme and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until well combined.
