    Bisquick Apple Dessert

    Source of Recipe

    Adapted from a Bisquick recipe

    List of Ingredients

    • STREUSEL TOPPING
    • 1 cup original Bisquick
    • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup cold butter cut into small pieces
    • APPLE MIXTURE
    • 6 to 7 cups sliced Jonathon apples
    • 2 tsp lemon juice mixed into 1 quart cold water
    • 2 tsp cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
    • 1 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
    • 1 cup walnut pieces
    • PUDDING MIXTURE
    • 1 cup original Bisquick
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1/4 cup melted butter
    • 4 large eggs, beaten

    Instructions

    1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9x13 baking dish with vegetable spray.

    2. STREUSEL MIXTURE: In a medium-sized bowl combine 1 cup Bisquick and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Add butter and with pastry blender or two table knives cut butter into sugar mixture until mixture resembles small peas. Set aside.

    3. APPLE MIXTURE: Peel, core and slice apples into 1/4 slices. Drop into a bowl filled witn approx. 1 quart of cold water that has been mixed with 2 tsp lemon juice. (This prevents the apple slices from turning brown.) Once all of the apples are sliced, drain water from bowl.

    4. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and walnut pieces to apples and combine. Place apple/nut mixture into prepared 9x13 baking dish.

    5. PUDING MIXTURE: In a large bowl combine 1 cup Bisquick, granulated sugar, vanilla, milk and the 4 beaten eggs. Mix with wire whisk until ingredients are well combined.

    6. Pour Bisquick/milk mixture over the apples. Top with streusel mixture.

    7. Bake 40-50 minutes in pre-heated 350 degree oven until top is puffy and golden brown.

    8. Cool 30 minutes prior to serving.

    9. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
