List of Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/3 cup veg. shortening
- 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- popsicle sticks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
- In a large bowl cream the vegetable shortening and the two sugars. Beat the eggs one at a time. Add the vanilla extract.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of 3/8 inch. Using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into 3 or 4 inch rounds or ovals. Use the scraps to make the cookie faces.
- Place 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet. Insert a popsicle stick into each cookie.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until firm to the touch.
- Cool on wire racks.
