    Flowerpot Bread

    Fun to make for Mother's Day!

    List of Ingredients

    1 1/2 c unbleached flour
    1/2 c raw oatmeal
    1 tsp salt
    1 pkg dry yeast
    2 Tbsp honey
    1 Tbsp margarine
    1 3/4 c hot water
    1 3/4 - 2 c whole-wheat flour
    clean clay flowerpot

    Recipe

    Stir together the flour, oatmeal, salt, and yeast in a bowl. Add honey, oil, and water. Mix for about 2 minutes wth a wooden spoon, until nice and smooth. Add 1 3/4 cups to 2 cups whole-wheat flour. Knead it with your hands until it is nice and smooth. Roll the dough into a ball, put a little flour on top, and cover with a piece of plastic wrap and towel. Let dough rest for 20 minutes. Spray flower pot with cooking spray. Put the dough in flowerpot and let it rise until it has doubled in size. Turn on the oven to 350 degrees while the dough is rising. Bake 15 minutes or until light brown. After it has cooled, stick fresh flowers or homemade flowers in top of bread for decorations.
