    Basic Fried Rice

    Source of Recipe

    Mrs. Griffis

    Recipe Introduction

    Delicious!

    List of Ingredients

    • 2-3 cups cooked Rice
    • 2 slices bacon, reserve grease
    • 2-3 tsp. dark soy sauce
    • 2-3 tsp. thin soy sauce
    • 1-2 green onions-sliced
    • 1 egg
    • 1/2 tsp. MSG

    Instructions

    1. To cook rice: put 1 cup rice in saucepan. Run cold water over it, stir with hand, drain water off and repeat until water is clear. This removes the starch from rice. Add 1-1 1/2 cups cold water and 1 tsp. salt. Bring to boil, cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes. DO NOT take lid off until cooking time is done.
    2. Fry bacon in 10" skillet or wok, on medium heat. Remove bacon from pan - crumble and reserve. Put cooked rice in pan with bacon grease and stir fry - do not stir rice continuously - toss so it won't get mushy. Add soy sauces and MSG. Make a well in center of rice and place one beaten egg, scramble it and toss into rice. Add green onion. Taste for seasoning - serve.
