    Yankee Ranger Cookies

    This is an adapted version of oatmeal cookies for the health-conscious. They are not exactly low-fat but they are healthy!


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/4 cup flour
    • 3/4 cup mix of wheat bran, oat bran and wheat germ
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 baking soda
    • 1/4 tsp baking powder
    • 2 cups oatmeal
    • 1 cup chopped walnuts
    • 2 cups Rice Krispies
    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1/2 cup shortening
    • 2 eggs
    • 2 cups brown sugar
    • 2 tsp vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 375 - 400 degrees.
    2. Toast Krispies and walnuts in the oven while it is preheating.
    3. Mix all dry ingredients together.

    4. Mix remaining ingredients in separate bowl.
    5. Combine all, including walnuts and Krispies.
    6. Drop by teaspoonfulls on greased cookie sheets.
    7. Bake 8-10 minutes. Put them in ziploc bags to make them soft and chewy.
