    Makes two loaves


    List of Ingredients


    • 5 3/4 to 6 1/4 cups flour
    • 1 pack active dry yeast
    • 2 1/4 cups milk
    • 2 Tbl sugar
    • 1 Tbl Shorting
    • 2 Tsp Salt


    Instructions


    1. In A Large Bowl, Combine 2 1/2 cups flour & yeast. Mix.
    2. In A sauce pan, combine milk, sugar, shortning,and salt. Stir constantly Untill just warm (110-115 degrees)
    3. Add to flour mixture and mix at low speed for 30 secs. Then high speed for 3 min.
    4. Add enough of the remaining flour to get a moderatly stiff dough. Knead till smooth(8 to 10 min.)
    5. Shape into a ball and cover in a lightly greased bowl. Let rise till doubled(1 to 1 1/4 hrs)
    6. Punch down and divide into two equal balls, Let rest for 10 mins.
    7. Shape into loaves and put in lightly greased bread pans
    8. Let rise for 45 to 60 mins.
    9. Bake at 375 for about 45 mins.
