Recipe Introduction
This recipe was served in my school cafeteria back in the 50's. It was served over mashed potatoes and was my favorite dish served there.
List of Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1-1/2 c water
- 2 T finely chopped onion
- 1-1/2 T flour
- 1 T Kitchen Bouquet or other browning & seasoning sauce
- Black pepper, if desired
- 1 bouillion cube
- Salt to taste - may not need much
Instructions
- Brown meat and onion in skillet. Add flour and blend in well. Add water gradually, as needed (may not use all of it) stirring constantly. Add seasonings. Serve over mashed potatoes. Serves 4
