    2/3 cup lentils

    2/3 cup split peas

    2/3 cup Kashi Pilaf, uncooked

    1 garlic clove, peeled and minced

    1 small onion, chopped

    1 stalk celery, chopped

    1 carrot, peeled and chopped

    3 cups chicken or vegetable broth

    3 1/2 cups water

    1 teaspoon paprika

    1 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

    pinch of dried thyme



    Wash the lentils, split peas, and Kashi Pilaf in cold running water and drain. Put them in a 4-quart saucepan. Add all other ingredients to the saucepan and cook, covered over moderately low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally, or until lentils, split peas and Kashi are soft.

    Serves 10 at 1.5 points per serving
