    • 3 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
    • 1 TEASPOON SALT
    • 3/4 TEASPOON CREAM OF TARTAR
    • 1/2 TEASPOON SODA
    • 1 1/2 CUPS SUGAR
    • 1 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE,SOFTENED
    • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
    • 1/4 TEASPOON LEMON JUICE
    • 4 EGGS
    • 1 CUP STRAWBERRY JAM
    • 1/2 CUP BUTTERMILK
    • 1 CUP NUTS,CHOPPED


    Instructions


    1. COMBINE FLOUR, SALT, CREAM OF TARTAR, AND SODA,SET ASIDE.
    2. COMBINE SUGAR,BUTTER,VANILLA, AND LEMON JUICE, IN A LARGE MIXING BOWL;CREAM UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY.
    3. ADD EGGS ONE AT A TIME, BEATING WELL AFTER EACH ADDITION.
    4. STIR TOGETHER JAM AND BUTTERMILK;ADD TO CREAMED MIXTURE ALTERNATELY WITH DRY INGREDIENTS, MIXING JUST UNTIL BLENDED.
    5. STIR IN NUTS.
    6. STIR BATTER INTO 2 GREASED 9X5X3" LOAF PANS.
    7. BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 55 MINUTES,OR UNTIL BREAD TESTS DONE.
    8. COOL 15 MINUTES. REMOVE FROM PANS ONTO COOLING RACKS.
