    Rheinlander Cheese Fondue, Original

    List of Ingredients


    • 5 cups processed swiss american cheese
    • 2 cups warer
    • 1 cup Sauterne (chablis wine)
    • 1 tsp. garlic powder
    • 1 tbl. butter
    • 1/4 tsp. Accent
    • 1 dash white pepper
    • 1 dash nutmeg


    Instructions


    1. grate cheese

    2. bring water, wine, butter and seasoning to a boil

    3. add cheese and sit into a double boiler (can use stainless steel or ceramic pot)

    4. stir thouroughly with wooden spoon until cheese melts into a smooth heavy sauce

    5. (if fondue seems too thick ad more wine if too thin add more cheese)
