Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    1 Cup Applesauce
    1 1/4 Cups Cinnamon
    1/4 cup Elmer's Glue

Mix and blend to dough consistency. Roll 1/8 inch thick on cinnamon dusted counter. Cut with gingerbread boy cutters. Punch hole in top with straw. Bake at170f for 1 hour. LEAVE IN OVEN for 5 hours after oven is turned off.

If you live in a dry climate let air dry for a couple of days instead of baking, if desired. Then you can paint them if you like or add youer choice of decorations and a ribbon to hang it from. The smell is wonderful!!!!

NOTE from Dianne: This year I learned that Puff Fabric Paint is used for the white sqiggly lines on them. I didn't know what to use last year!

"I have a great recipe for Cinnamon Applesauce ornaments . They've been around for a long time and are so simple to make and decorate with. I use my favorite cookie cutter shapes which are gingerbread , stars, Christmas trees and hearts . I add red ribbon or jute string to them for hanging. You can hang them everywhere. Here are some suggestions: On the garland across a hutch, on the garland going up the banister,
from the tops of curtains (in the windows), on wreaths and on the Christmas tree . These ornaments smell sooo good too!" (from one of several websites showing this recipe)
