    How I cook pinto beans in the crockpot.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 Cups of Pinto beans (rinsed well & foreign objects removed)
    • Cold Water filled to 2 inches from top of crockpot
    • 1 Tablespoon Salt
    • 1 Tablespoon Oil or Shortening


    Instructions


    1. Put all in crockpot and cook on LOW for 6-10 hours - OR
    2. Put all in crockpot and cook on HIGH for 2 hours, let set overnight - Than allow to cook on LOW for 6-8 hours.
    3. Adjust the recipe to your tasting. Sometimes, I add frozen chorizo and when the beans are done, they taste just like Hormel Chili beans out of the can!
    4. If you won't be eating these within 3 days, freeze in 1 cup containers and thaw in your microwave when your ready to eat (they thaw out really fast).
