1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
1/2 cup instant coffee
3 cups vodka
1/2 vanilla bean or 2 tbsp. vanilla extract


Recipe



Be sure that brown sugar measure is densely packed. Combine the sugars, and 2 cups water and boil 5 minutes. Gradually stir in the coffee, using a wire whisk. Cool. Pour into a tall bottle, jar, or jug; add vodka and vanilla; mix thoroughly. Uncover and let stand for at least two weeks, then remove vanilla bean. Good as an after dinner drink or to pour over ice cream or fruit. Makes about 5 cups.
