    1 1/3 cups nonfat dry milk powder
    3/4 cup flour
    3 tablespoons beef bouillon granules
    1/8 teaspoon ground thyme
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    1/8 teaspoon ground sage
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    3 tablespoons brown sauce for gravy

    Combine milk powder, flour, bouillon granules, thyme, onion powder and sage. Stir with a wire whisk to blend. Use a pastry blender or 2 knives to cut in butter or margarine until evenly distributed. Drizzle brown sauce for gravy over mixture. Stir with wire whisk until blended. Spoon into a 3-cup container with a tight-fitting lid. Label with date and contents. Store in refrigerator. Use within 4 to 6 weeks. Makes about 2 2/3 cups BEEF GRAVY MIX.
    Smothered Hamburger Patties (Beef Gravy Mix)

    2 pounds lean ground beef
    2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
    1/3 cup all-purpose flour
    1 1/4 cups Creamy Mushroom Sauce -- (see recipe)
    1 1/3 cups water
    1/2 cup Beef Gravy Mix -- (see recipe)

    Preheat oven to 350 F. Form ground beef into 8 to 10 patties. In a large skillet, melt shortening. Dip each patty in flour, coating both sides. Sear in hot shortening, turning once. Arrange seared patties in a 13" x 9" baking dish. In a medium saucepan, combine sauce, water and Beef Gravy Mix. Stir with a wire whisk over medium heat until slightly thickened. Pour evenly over meat. Cover and bake 1 hour in preheated oven. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
    Stuffed Pork Chops (Beef Gravy Mix)

    4 pork chops -- 1" to 1 1/2" thick
    1/4 cup raisins
    1 batch Supper Stuffing (Herbed Stuffing Mix) -- (see recipe)
    1/2 cup Beef Gravy Mix -- (see recipe)

    Preheat oven to 350 F. Butter a 9" square baking dish; set aside. Cut pockets in sides of pork chops, 3" wide and 2 1/2" deep. Stir raisins into Supper Stuffing. Spoon 3 to 4 tbsp stuffing into each pocket. Spoon remaining stuffing into bottom of prepared baking dish. Spoon Beef Gravy Mix evenly over all sides of stuffed pork chops. Place coated chops on stuffing. Cover with foil. Bake about 1 1/2 hours in preheated oven until well browned. Makes 4 servings.

    Beef Gravy (Beef Gravy Mix)

    1 cup cold water
    1/2 cup Beef Gravy Mix -- (see recipe)

    Pour water into a small saucepan. Use a whisk to stir Beef Gravy Mix into water. Stir constantly over medium heat until gravy is smooth and slightly thickened, 2 to 3 minutes. Makes about 1 cup.
