    2 pounds ground chuck
    1 cup soft bread crumbs
    1 egg
    1/4 cup Burgundy wine
    2 tablespoons green onions -- sliced
    salt and pepper
    Sauce
    2 tablespoons green onions -- sliced
    1/2 cup butter
    1/4 cup Burgundy wine
    6 slices French bread

    Recipe



    Mix ground chuck, bread crumbs, egg, 1/4 cup wine, onions, salt and pepper;
    shape mixture into 6 doughnut shaped burgers about 1-inch thick. Cook
    remaining onions in 1/2 cup butter and add wine. Broil burgers over coals
    about four inches from heat for 9 minutes, brushing frequently with sauce.
    Turn burgers and broil 4 minutes, again basting with sauce. Serve on thick,
    diagonally-sliced French bread. Heat remaining sauce to pass.
