Pork: Pork Chops with Mushroom Gravy

    Source of Recipe

    unknown

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    1 to 2 tsp paprika
    1 1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp pepper
6 to 8 boneless pork loin chops 1-inch thick *
    1/4 cup butter or margarine
    1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup chopped green pepper **
1 can (4 oz) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
    2 cup milk
    2 Tbs lemon juice

    Recipe

1 In large resealable plastic bag, combine first four ingredients.
2 Add pork chops, one at a time; toss to coat.
3 Set remaining flour mixture aside.
4 In a large skillet, saute chops in butter until golden brown; transfer to a
    5 greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
6 In the same skillet, saute the onion, green (red) pepper, and mushrooms
    7 until tender.
8 Stir in reserved flour mixture; gradually add milk, until blended.
9 Bring to a boil; cook, and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
10 Remove from the heat; stir in lemon juice.
11 Pour over chops. cover and bake at 350* for 50-60 minutes or until the meat
    12 is no longer pink.
13 * (I used pork steaks which were about 1/2-inch thick and they worked fine)
14 **(I used red pepper - for some reason I can't tolerate green pepper, but
    15 red is ok)
16 ***I used 4 of the large pork steaks, and made the same amount of sauce for
17 which recipe calls - it was very good!
