    Creamy Cheddar Cheese Soup

    List of Ingredients




    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. Chopped onion
    1/2 cup all purpose flour
    1 1/4 tsp garlic powder
    1/4 tsp paprika
    2 tsp worcestershire sauce
    1 1/2 qt. milk
    3 Tbsp. chicken stock
    1 1/2 cups sliced celery
    10 ozs. shredded cheddar cheese
    1 1/4 tsp dry mustard

    Recipe



    Melt butter in a 3 qt. saucepan, add onion and saute until tender.
    Stir in flour, mustard, garlic powder, paprika and worcestershire sauce.
    Remove from heat; gradually add milk, stirring constantly. Add chicken stock
    and celery, mix well.
    Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
    Add cheese and stir until cheese is melted and soup is at desired
    temperature.DO NOT BOIL.
    Serve topped with green pepper, pimento strips, toasted slivered almonds or
    cooked crumbled bacon.

    Makes about 2 qts.
