    Recipe Introduction

When I think curries i think Indian and maybe Thai. Here's a curry that is different again. It's quite a nice one to come home to in the spring or autumn.

    List of Ingredients

    • oil (peanut)
    • 500g sliced rump steak
    • Potatoes (diced)
    • water as needed
    • garlic and ginger as liked (fresh is best)
    • 1 tbs curry powder
    • 1/2 cup chicken stock
    • 1/2 cup Chinese satay curry sauce
    • Squirt of Chinese chilli sauce
    • Soy sauce (a slurp)
    • 1/2 cup chinese cooking wine or sweet sherry (don't overdo alcohol)
    • 2 finely sliced onions

    Instructions

    1. Heat oil in wok. Add in the meat and sear. Do not cook fully. Set aside.
    2. Stirfry the potatoes searing their surface also. Add a bit of water and a lid and steam to soften.
    3. In a bowl combine grated or chopped garlic and grated ginger. In yet another bowl mix together curry powder, chicken stock, sauces and wine.
    4. Into the steaming potatoes add the onions and garlic and ginger combination. Cook stirring about 3-4 minutes until onion collapses.
    5. Add curry sauce mix and stir until heated through. Add beef back in and finish cooking for a longer time.
    6. Serve with steamed rice. Sprinkle over peanuts and coriander leaves.

    Final Comments

Tastes good but I think you need some veg on the side or fruit for afters
