Stirfry Pork with Honey Sesame Sauce

    Source of Recipe

    blue book

    Recipe Introduction

    serves 4
Despite what the recipe says I think I would prefer to change the weighting and have more veg than meat (even though veg is lighter weight I realise)

    List of Ingredients

    • 500g pork stirfry strips
    • 2 tsp cornflour
    • 2 tbs soy sauce (salt reduced is best)
    • 400g stirfry veg (sliced or bit sized). try corn, cabbage, bokchoy, capsicum, celery or whatever you prefer
    • 2 tbs peanut oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    • 250ml (I cup) honey sesame sauce (or similar)

    Instructions

    1. Combine pork with cornflour and soy sauce and marinate for 10 minutes (up to 30)
    2. Heat oil. Stir-fry garlic for 15 seconds or until aromatic.
    3. Stirfry pork in 1-2 batches until just cooked, remove.
    4. Add more oil and stirfry hard veg for 30 seconds-1 minute until their colour goes bright. Add leafy veg and return pork to pan. Mix together.
    5. Make well in centre and add sauce. Heat through and serve with steamed rice or hot noodles.

    Final Comments

Can add toasted cashews at the last minute.
