Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

List of Ingredients
- 1 recipe pastry for 9 inch double crust (or 2 store bought frozen crusts)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 T. flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 5-8 apples, peeled and sliced (Granny Smith work great!)
- Cinnamon and nutmeg to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425.
- Melt butter in saucepan, stir in flour to form paste. Add water and sugars, bring to boil. Reduce temperature and let simmer.
- Place bottom crust in pan; fill with apples, mounded slightly. Cover with lattice work of crust.
- Gently pour sugar mixture over crust, down into apples.
- Bake 15 minutes in preheated oven; reduce temperature to 350, continue baking for 35-45 minutes until apples are soft, and crust is browned.
