    Bulgogi (Korean BBQ)

    Source of Recipe

MOM (by way of my Korean friend Young Ok Lim)

    Recipe Introduction

This has become a family favorite very quickly. That's because it is very yummy! When you say the name, the emphasis is on the "gi".

    List of Ingredients

    • 5 lbs boneless beef roast, about any kind
    • 1 cup soy sauce
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1/4-1/2 cup 7up
    • 5 single cloves chopped garlic
    • 5 pieces chopped green onion
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • lots of sliced onions
    • sliced green peppers if you like (I like!)

    Instructions

    1. Ask the butcher to slice the beef really thin. You will have to slice the slices into manageable strips when you get it home.
    2. Mix all ingredients for the marinade together.
    3. Add the sliced beef and marinate for 30 mins or overnight.
    4. Remove from the marinade and fry in a frying pan. If it is a no stick pan you don't need much oil.
    5. Serve Korean style with sticky rice rolled in a lettuce leaf. Or serve over rice. Or serve with rice in a tortilla like fajitas!

    Final Comments

If you would like to make this in quantity and freeze it for later, marinate it first then put it in bags in the freezer. When you use it, thaw, then add more onions and peppers if you like and fry it up. Yum Yum!
