    Source of Recipe

    Bill Oelker's creation

    Recipe Introduction

This is Bill's Molasses, Banana, Sourdough, Raisin Bread for bread machine. Its delicious flavor will compliment your favorite meal. If you need sourdough starter, you can check here: http://home.howstuffworks.com/sourdough2.htm or talk to Bill!

    List of Ingredients

    1 TBSP Canola oil
    2 TBSP molasses
    1 large, well ripened banana
    1/3 cup raisins
3 cups Gold Medal bread flour
    1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp rapid rise yeast for bread machines
1 cup sourdough starter (1 hour at room temperature)
    1 tsp apple pie spice

    Recipe

Mix together in large mixing bowl: flour, apple pie spice, salt and yeast. Stir with a fork until well mixed.

In bread pan, add Canola oil, molasses, banana (mashed), sourdough starter and approximately 1/3 cup water.

Add the mixing bowl mixture to the bread pan; start bread machine.

Observe the mixing consistency of the mixture and make sure it is well mixed and not too wet or too dry. You may need to add flour or a little water to adjust consistency. This happens because of the moisture content in the banana and the sourdough starter.

Add raisins about 10 minutes before the end of the kneading and mixing cycle. Some machines give a signal at the end of each cycle. Check your machine's manual for information about the timing of the cycles so you will know when to add the raisins.

Most bread machines typically take about 3 hours and 40 minutes from beginning to end.
