    White Wine Sangria

    About.com
By Stacy Slinkard - Wine Expert
    Yield: 4-6 servings
    Total Time: 8 minutes

A favorite for serving solo or with spicy appetizers, this sangria pulls its fresh flavor profile from several summery sources - garden-ready mint, juicy citrus and born-for-the-beach coconut rum. A swirl of sweet and sour amps the pucker power and adds additional dimension.

    Ingredients:
    • 1 bottle of white wine
    • 3 limes: 2 sliced limes, 1 fresh squeezed lime
    • 3 lemons: 2 sliced lemons, 1 fresh squeezed lemon
    • 1/3 cup of coconut rum
    • 1/3 cup of sugar
    • 1/3 cup of sweet and sour liqueur
    • sprigs of mint: add leaves to taste and garnish

    Preparation:
Grab a large pitcher and carefully pour the bottle of white wine, coconut rum, sweet and sour liqueur and fresh lemon and lime juice into it and set aside. Slice remaining lemons and limes and add to pitcher. Add 8-10 fresh mint leaves to pitcher and refrigerate for at least an hour. Serve over ice and garnish with mint sprig and slice of lemon or lime.
