    Makes approx 12 servings

Tastes like a Snickers, but made with ingredients that are good for you! These are a heart-healthier Valentine's treat.

    Ingredients:
    2 cups whole pitted dates
    1 cup roasted almonds
1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or unsweetened, according to taste)
1 T peanut butter (preferably natural)

    Directions:
In a food processor, chop almonds until coarse and consistency of bread crumbs. Add chocolate chips, dates, & peanut butter. Mix until ingredients start to ball in the bowl.

Line 8x8 pan with parchment paper. Spread mixture evenly in pan. Top with another piece of parchment and smooth.

Refrigerate for two hours, minimum, before using a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut them bars. Keep refrigerated in a well-sealed container for up to a week.
