    Basic Brown Rice

    Ingredients
    1/8 cup long-grain brown rice (about 2 Tbs.)
    1/3 cup water
    freshly ground black pepper

    Preparations:
    1. Rinse the rice in a bowl of water. Drain.

    2. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the rice and lower the heat. Cover tightly and simmer until the rice is tender, about 35-45 minutes. Adjust the pepper to taste.

    One 1/2-cup serving equals: Calories 100; Carbohydrate 32 g; Fat 1 g (Saturated Fat 0 g); Fiber 1 g; Protein 3 g; Sodium 65 mg; Cholesterol 0 mg ++++ WWP: 2
