    Guy's Big Bite (adapted to work for my family)


    Recipe Introduction


    The original recipe called for chorizo and homemade ketchup but I don't care for the sausage and didn't have the ingredients for the ketchup, so I substituted mushrooms and steak sauce and it worked just fine.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cloves minced garlic
    • 1/3 c coarsely chopped bacon
    • 4 chopped mini-portabella mushrooms
    • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred)
    • 4 small slices swiss cheese
    • whole wheat hamburger buns
    • steak sauce


    Instructions


    1. Over medium heat, combine garlic, bacon, and mushrooms.
    2. Cook mixture until bacon is browned, stirring often.
    3. Divide ground beef into 8 sections.
    4. Make each section into a cup shape in your palm.
    5. Fill 4 of the cups with the bacon mixture and top with cheese.
    6. Use the remaining 4 cups to cover, pinching edges and sealing in cheese.
    7. Fry or grill until juices run clear.
    8. Serve on buns with steak sauce.
