    List of Ingredients


    • 4 cups sugar
    • 3/4 cup cocoa/scant 3/4's
    • 4 Tablespoons white Karo
    • 2 cups milk
    • 1 stick butter or oleo
    • pinch salt
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 6 large marshmellows
    • 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts


    Instructions


    1. Butter lightly a sided cookie sheet.
    2. Butter lightly sides of heavy 3-4 qt. sauce pan. Combine sugar, cocoa, Karo syrup, milk and pinch of salt in sauce pan. Cook over medium heat without stirring to hard boil stage. Keep at a slow steady boil. Easy to boil over if not watched. Pan will be full and then will boil down to about half of what mixture was when first boiling.
    3. Set pan in cold water to cool. Add 1 stick of butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 6 large marshmellows.
    4. Beat with hand mixer. Not long. Add nuts.
    5. Pour/spoon onto cookie sheet. Let sit until hard.


    Final Comments


    Good chocolate cake icing. Don't beat too long.
