    Jo Bell's Tea Cakes

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 eggs (one at a time)
    • 1 Tablespoon baking powder (sift in flour)
    • 1 cup country butter (2 sticks softened)
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • flour (several cups until dough is stiff) Jo Bell didn't measure!


    Instructions


    1. Cream the butter. Add sugar and cream. Add eggs one at a time and beat throughly. Add vanilla.

    2. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add to creamed butter, sugar, and eggs by hand until dough is stiff.

    3. Turn onto floured board, roll out to 1/4 inch thick.

    4. Cut with circle cookie cutter.

    5. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 325 for 12 to 15 minutes.



    Final Comments


    Can refridgerate overnight.
