    Chocolate Icing (or candy)

    List of Ingredients


    • 4 cups sugar
    • 3/4 cup cocoa - scant
    • 4 Tablespoons white Karo syrup
    • 2 cups milk
    • pinch salt
    • Later
    • 1 stick butter or oleo
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 6 large marshnellows
    • 1 1/2 cups nuts


    Instructions


    1. Cook sugar, cocoa, Karo, milk, and pinch of salt to hard ball stage.

    2. Set pan in cold water to cool.

    3. Add 1 stick butter or oleo, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 6 large marshmellows.

    4. Beat until loses its glaze.

    5. Add 1 1/2 cups broken nuts if desired.

    6. Pour on greased (butter) sheet pan. Cut into squares when cool.
