    The best Texas Barbecue Sauce in California


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
    • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
    • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 Tbls. chili powder
    • 2 cups ketchup
    • 1 cup cider or white vinegar
    • 1/2 cup lemon juice
    • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
    • 2 Tbls. prepared mustard
    • 1 Tbls. crushed celery seeds
    • 2 Tbls. butter


    Instructions


    1. In large saucepan, saute onions and garlic in oil about 10 minutes until golden and tender.
    2. Stir in chili powder and cook 1 minute.
    3. Add remaining ingredients except butter; bring to boil.
    4. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes, stirring often.
    5. Stir in butter.
