    Recipe Introduction

I created this recipe for a contest...didn't win, but had fun entering. The neighbors loved my trial and error period.

    List of Ingredients

    Cherry Ring:
    2 cans Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
2 – 3 oz pkgs. (6 oz total) Philadelphia Cream Cheese
    1/2 C (scant) Confectioner’s Sugar
    3/4 tsp Almond Extract
1 21oz can Lucky Leaf Cherries Jubilee Cherries (may substitute Cherry Pie filling)

    Icing:
    1/4 C Confectioner’s Sugar
    1/2 Tbsp. Milk

    Topping:
    Sliced Almonds

    Recipe

Preheat oven to 350. On a 12” pizza stone, place the separated sections of the crescent rolls in a circular pattern, with the narrow points pointing out and the wide sections overlapping. In a small bowl, mix 6 oz of cream cheese with the ½ C Confectioner’s Sugar and ¾ tsp Almond Extract. Spread mixture gently onto the overlapping portion of the crescent rolls. Spoon the cherries jubilee filling on top of the cream cheese mixture (there will probably be approx. 1/4 of can of filling left). Tuck the points over the cherry filling and under the overlapping wide sections, to create a crescent ring. Bake at 350 for approx. 15-20 minutes or until crescent ring is golden. Place pizza stone onto a cake rack until cooled. In a small bowl, combine 1/4 C Confectioner’s Sugar and 1/2 Tbsp of milk. Using a knife or fork dipped into the mixture, drizzle over the ring. Sprinkle with slivered almonds. Serves 8.
